If a health message opens with “THE TRUTH about” or “THE SOLUTION to,” I keep scrolling — and you should too. It’s fear-based messaging that erases nuance to imply you’ve been lied to and there’s a quick fix. Both claims are dangerous when the subject is people’s health, not just another product.
Bold claims make good clickbait, but talking about health from a platform is leveraging power, and that comes with responsibility. Try, instead: data, evidence, an approach to, tools for, ideas for — words that leave room for the nuance the topic actually deserves.
